Determining Chevrolet Silverado 1500 features and specs

The famous full-size pickup Chevrolet Silverado 1500 returns for the 2021 model year and has a range of updates, including at least one trick from the GMC Sierra. The Silverado 1500 is built as a straightforward work truck or a luxurious cruiser for everyday use with three cab sizes, three cab lengths, five engines, and various trim and style choices.

The Silverado was fully renovated in 2019, and it comes with several changes in 2021. On some engines, the ratings of towing and hauling have been improved, new technology has been introduced for making the trailering easier, and an optional multi-position tailgate for adaptation to various tasks.

The 2021 Silverado provides five motors and three transmissions for combining seven powertrains in four-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive systems. Every powertrain is designed to meet all needs.

Despite the fact, the Chevrolet Silverado's motor is the smallest, it's the fastest in the Silverado line. With an 8-speed automated engine, the 2.7-liter turbo-4 produces 310 hp and 348 lb-ft to reach 60 mph in just seven seconds. Chevrolet prefers to hide that it's a 4-cylinder but does not underperform. Torque exists at low revs and provides much grunt and towing capability.

Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is available in 8 trims editions; each of it has its specifications. WT trim edition (the basic Silverado Work Truck) comes with a V6 engine, 17-inch steel wheels, locking tailgate, air conditioning, power windows and door locks, a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, connectivity to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an audio system with six speakers.

The Custom model improves the Silverado appearance and allows using it in extended- or crew-cab configuration. As for specs, it includes 20-inch aluminum wheels, remote engine start, LED cargo bed lighting, Power-locking, and power-release tailgate with assisted lift, power, and mirrors with heating, satellite radio, Wi-Fi, hitch guidance lines for a backup camera.

The Trail Boss adds to the Custom trim four-wheel drive, Z71 off-road suspension package, 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, and automatic locking rear differential.

The Silverado LT is based on the Custom trim edition, and it's fitted with a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, automatic climate control with two zones, 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat, front seats with heating, tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel with heating function, and an 8-inch touchscreen.

The RST trim edition is equipped the same as the LT, but it also adds 18-inch aluminum wheels and LED foglights.

The LT Trail Boss trim builds on the Custom and LT trims along with a 5.3-liter V8 engine, additional transmission oil cooler, heavy-duty battery, and bucket front seats with a center console.

The LTZ based on the LT trim comes with a 5.3-liter V8 engine, 20-inch alloy wheels, power tailgate, power-sliding rear window, bucket front seats with center console, 10-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, front seats with ventilation, rear seats with heating function, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless connectivity, Advanced Trailering System (a reminder of trailer maintenance and other features of trailer monitoring), controller of trailer brake (allows adjustment of a trailer's brakes from the cab), front and rear Parktronic, backup camera with high definition, blind-spot monitoring with an alert of rear cross-traffic.

The top of the Silverado line, the High Country trim, includes digital driver information display, navigation setup, Bose audio system with seven speakers, phone charging without a wire, and warning of lane departure.
